Fedele Canosa to present MECD at Next Generation Learning Spaces conference
27.03.2017 - Events
Associate architect Fedele Canosa, together with Peter Green of The University of Manchester, will present the plans for the Manchester Engineering Campus Development (MECD) at the Next Generation Learning Spaces conference in London on Wednesday March 29, 2017.
The conference address changes in the education landscape, from increasing competitiveness among universities, changing expectations from students, rising fees, introduction of new frameworks, and the rapid pace of change occurring with technology. New campus developments, such as MECD, create opportunities to disrupt traditional ways of teaching and transform the way in which students interact and learn.
Currently under construction, MECD will be the new home to the University’s four engineering schools and two research institutes from the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. With its interactive learning environments, flexible labs, and bespoke project areas, it supports innovation, creativity and collaboration on a completely new scale. Next Generation Learning Spaces includes the perspective of professionals from undergraduate and professional degree granting institutions, as well as architects, designers and technology providers.
