The Mecanoo-designed retrospective on the works of photographer Peter Lindbergh will open at Reggia di Venaria in Turin on October 7, 2017 until February 2, 2018. After Rotterdam and Munich, Turin is the third stop on the exhibition’s international tour.
Peter Lindbergh is today regarded as one of the most influential fashion photographers of the past forty years. His pure black-and-white photographs have determined the course of fashion photography since the 1980s. Produced by the Kunsthal Rotterdam in close collaboration with Peter Lindbergh and Thierry-Maxime Loriot, the multimedia show presents approximately 220 objects, including films and exclusive, previously unseen material like storyboards, props, polaroids and contact sheets.
Mecanoo designed the travelling exhibition with a thematic approach, marking Lindbergh’s creative development and focusing on his themes, imaginary world, and passions through the years. Visitors will experience the aesthetic of Lindbergh’s work across nine different sections, each with their own identity. The clever play of light and darkness enhances the experience of the black-and-white photography.
