Francine Houben to deliver the Utzon lecture at the UNSW in Sydney
21.05.2019 - Events
Francine Houben, Founding Partner and Creative Director of Mecanoo, will deliver a presentation on the 27th of May 2019, as part of the Utzon lecture series at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, one of Australia's leading research and teaching universities.
Francine will lecture about Mecanoo’s approach to architecture - People Place Purpose Poetry. She defines the three fundamental concepts of her architectural vision and adds Poetry, a new layer, which reflects the elusive elements of architecture. Discovering unexpected solutions for the specifics of programme and context is the foremost challenge in all the assignments. Each design is considered in terms of its cultural setting, place and time. As such, Mecanoo treats each project as a unique design statement embedded within its context and orchestrated specifically for the people who use it.
